The honor of inaugurating the 2023-24 Friends of Music concert season has been bestowed upon the St. Mark’s Bach Ensemble. Comprising of passionate musicians with an affinity for Bach and the musical creations of the Baroque Era, the ensemble wholeheartedly embraces the challenges and delights that this rich repertoire offers. The ensemble extends invitations to guest vocalists and instrumentalists following the chosen compositions. The eagerly anticipated performance is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, at Covenant First Presbyterian Church at 421 White Ave., in Live Oak.
The assembled instrumentalists include Michael Mastronicola, harpsichordist; Rhonda Cassano, flautist; Megan Rios, violinist; Daniel Rios, oboist; and Brian Magnus, cellist. Their harmonious renditions will encompass works by Telemann, Bach, Ibert, and Vivaldi.
Noteworthy to mention is that attending this musical soirée is free of charge, and a reception will follow. For more information on the Friends of Music concert series, visit friendsofmusicconcerts.com.
