John Zimmerman began his law enforcement career in 1992 with the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) under then-Sheriff Robert Lenard.
Zimmerman represented the SCSO to the highest set of standards throughout his career. Over the last 31 years, Zimmerman has served under three sheriff's and has built an impeccable resume.
Throughout his career, he was an intricate force in creating the first Suwannee County Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Unit. As the years went by, Zimmerman rose to the rank of sergeant, where he took on the responsibility of overseeing and managing a squad of deputies. His work ethic was unmatched, earning him the admiration of his squad.
The legacy he leaves behind will not only leave a void within the SCSO, but his legacy will stand as the standard for all law enforcement officers to follow.
