The Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) K9 Loki recently assisted the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) with a traffic stop that ended with the discovery of a large amount of drugs.
According to a SCSO press release, on Tuesday, Sept. 22, FHP Trooper Ryan MacFadden requested assistance from SCSO Deputy Justin Stout and SCSO K9 Loki with a traffic stop. Stout and K9 Loki conducted an open-air search of the stopped vehicle, and K9 Loki detected the odor of illegal narcotics from within the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a large amount of synthetic cannabinoids, MDMA (ecstasy), methamphetamine and crack cocaine.
The driver of the vehicle, Eliel Cooks, 31, of Live Oak, and his passenger, Joshua Lavonn Perry, 33, of Live Oak, were both arrested and charged with multiple drug charges.
