On the morning of Wednesday, Aug. 2, Corporal Mike Landis with the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) responded to a call reporting a burglary and theft from a residence on 137th Road in Live Oak. According to an SCSO release, the victim reported he had gotten notification on his security system and looked into it. The video showed a barefoot man wearing only a t- shirt and boxers leaving the victim's barn. He was carrying water bottles and alcoholic beverages that had been left in a refrigerator in the barn the night before.
Soon after the call, Investigator Jacob Williamson found a man matching the description at the intersection of State Road 51 and 137th Road. Williamson confirmed the man's identity as Phillip Charles Marcozzi, a 42- year-old Live Oak resident. Marcozzi told Williamson he had been drinking with friends the previous night and had been dropped off near some woods. He said he wandered through the woods until he spotted a building. He went inside and, feeling thirsty, took a few water bottles and two beers.
Marcozzi was arrested and taken to Suwannee County Jail under the charges of burglary and petit theft. In addition, Marcozzi had two outstanding warrants, both for failure to appear.
