Ms. Martha Dean Wolfe, 94, died Monday, Oct. 5, 2020 at her residence, following an extended illness. She is the daughter of the late William and Vashtie Mims Dempsey, and the widow of the late Lewis Wolfe, whom she was married to for 62 years. She was a member of the Delaney Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for over 38 years and also enjoyed gardening and sewing.
She is survived by one daughter, Cherry Lumbert (Brian) of Branford; one son, Jurian Wolfe (Denise) of Orlando; two sisters, Willene Lefevre, of Live Oak and Joanne Bell, of Branford; one brother, Mickey Dempsey (Sandra) of Branford; five nieces, Caitilyn Hucks (David) Starke; Natalie Dempsey, of Starke; Meriem Allgood (Jim); Susan Self (Cleveie) of Jennings; Laura MacLafferty (George) of Tallahassee and one nephew, Neil Cumbie (Lauren) of Lowell, MA.Graveside funeral services were conducted Saturday, Oct. 10, at 1:30 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Branford with Rev. Allen Higginbotham officiating.
