Operation Sting is an annual event put on by several churches throughout Lafayette County. This year is no different, as Operation Sting 24, is in full effect. Pastor Jeremy Davis is gearing up to arm the students of Lafayette County with prayer and an opportunity to build a relationship with God, hoping to help each student navigate the upcoming school with the battles they will surely face.
Pastor Davis has revamped the event this year by collaborating with several local churches, along with bringing in Epic Ministries from Texas and Lafayette native Krista Maddox. While Operation Sting 24 is geared towards ministry, they want students to know they are not alone this year. The event will be filled with excitement and high energy, with a guest appearance by Kazoo. Pastor Davis and all who support the students of the Lafayette County School District want the students to know they have a support system all around them.
Operation Sting 24 will kick off Sunday, Aug. 6, at 6 p.m. in the Lafayette High School cafeteria. The theme for the evening is a “One Night Kid's Crusade.” Pastor Davis encourages all students to come out to kick off the school year with excitement and joy in their hearts. Lafayette High School is located at 160 Hornet Dr. in Mayo.
