On Monday, July 17, at approximately 5:30 a.m., Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) responded to a crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 90 and 76th Street in Suwannee County. According the report, a silver sedan was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 90, a silver pickup truck pulling a trailer was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 90. Both were approaching the intersection of 76th Street. The FHP report states the driver of the sedan, a 25-year-old male from Live Oak, attempted to turn left into the driveway of the Jiffy Food Store parking lot just east of the intersection as the pickup truck was approaching the same driveway. This caused the front of the pickup truck to collide with the sedan's right side. The sedan's backseat passenger, as 50-year-old Live Oak resident, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The vehicle's front right passenger, a 20-year-old man, also from Live Oak, was transported to the Suwannee ER, were he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the sedan was also transported to Suwannee ER with minor injuries. Neither of the sedan's passengers were noted to have been wearing their seatbelts. The occupants of the pickup truck were reported to have sustained minor injuries, but neither were transported from the scene of the accident.
