Jack Brian Hall sadly passed away at the age of 70 on Friday, May 5, 2023 in Valdosta, Georgia. He is survived by his children, Eric (and Kiti) Hall of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Tara (and Michael) Clune of Trinity, Florida and his grandchildren, Kylie Clune, Hunter Hall, Kyndall Clune and Barrett Hall. Jack was predeceased by his parents Bunny Hall and Mary Hall and his sister Bettie Gill of Live Oak, Florida.
Jack was born in Live Oak, FL on October 15, 1952. He was drafted into the U.S Army in 1972. He was stationed in Bamberg, Germany until 1974. He then served in the Army National Guard until 1976.
Jack was best known as the Sales Manager at WQHL Radio in Live Oak, Florida and for his love of the Florida Gators. His enjoyment in watching the Gators play football was very apparent to all who drove past his house at Christmas time. He made his feelings about his favorite football team clear with his orange and blue Christmas lights and a giant “Santa Gator”. Once inside his home, visitors were likely to be invited into his Gator themed den, decorated with Royal blue walls and orange base boards and topped off with an orange and blue plaid couch. Rooting for the Florida Gators was one of his favorite past times and his loss will surely be felt by all University of Florida football players past and present.
Jack was also a fantastic storyteller. Anyone that was ever in any sort of predicament with him, was sure to be a subject in one of his exaggerated tales. He had a way of turning any situation into a hysterical memory that would be shared for years. Whether it was about battling traffic while on a road trip, hiding under a rowboat with his dad as a child or being stranded in a sinking boat in the Gulf of Mexico, his retellings became more and more outlandish as he shared them with family and friends. Three lanes of traffic would soon become six, a large cup (being used to empty a sinking boat) became a tiny Dixie cup, a search party became a swarming helicopter crew and a small puddle became a large lake as his tall tales grew with time. Jack will not be forgotten, as his friends and family continue to carry on his exaggerations and near fabrications.
