On Friday, March 24, the Lafayette High School (LHS) Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) began their march toward history by sending 31 LHS representatives to the State Conference. Among the 31 representatives, LHS will send 13 students, along with the first sixth grade class, to represent at the National Leadership Conference in Atlanta, Ga., in June.
The LHS FBLA team found themselves at the top of several categories, including a first place finish by Harrison Johnson, Wyatt Chandler and Durand Driver in Intro to Business Presentation. Placing second in the Marketing Mix Challenge were Jaxon Murphy and Junior Swinson. Fhelix Hernandez took home second place in Running an Effective Meeting. Joining them with a second place finish were Elisabeth Cook and Aubrey Sarmiento in Business Ethics. Earning a third place finish in Broadcast Journalism were Logan Byrd, Jayden Davis and Hannah Murray. Coming away with a fifth place finish in Impromptu Speaking was Kambry Moseley, followed by a top eight finish by Tori Williams in Intro to Social Media.
These 13 students will now advance to the National Leadership Conference, which will take place from Tuesday, June 27, through Thursday, June 30, in Atlanta, Ga.
