A 60-year-old New Orleans woman was pronounced deceased following a single-vehicle accident that occurred on Saturday, March 18, in Suwannee County. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) report, a sports utility vehicle (SUV), driven by a 40-year-old New Orleans woman, was traveling east on Interstate 10 at 1 a.m. For reasons unknown, the SUV left the highway and travelled onto the grass median, hitting a traffic sign. The report continues, stating the vehicle began to overturn, ejecting the driver and front passenger from the vehicle. The SUV eventually came to a rest in the grass median. The rear passenger, a 60-year-old New Orleans woman, was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver was transported to UF Shands with serious injuries. The front passenger, a 44-year-old New Orleans man, was also transported to UF Shands with minor injuries.
