The Town of Branford is excited to announce that Tractor Supply Company is bringing their business to Branford, and the projected opening date is March of 2021. The date for the groundbreaking ceremony hasn’t been set yet, but Town Clerk Donna Harden said it will be very soon.
“They are in the final stages of permitting and they should have it all in place within the coming days,” Harden said. “There’s already been some activity out there on the site and they will be breaking ground out there really soon.”
The new business will be located on Highway 27 in Branford between the Dollar General Marketplace and Rudy’s Tire Shop.
According to their website, this Brentwood, Tenn., based company is the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the United States, and as of June 27, 2020, the company operates 1,881 Tractor Supply stores in 49 states. Their company is passionate about serving its unique niche, as a one-stop shop for recreational farmers, ranchers and all those who enjoy living the rural lifestyle, for more than 80 years.
Tractor Supply offers an extensive mix of products necessary to care for home, land, pets and animals with a focus on product localization, exclusive brands and legendary customer service that addresses the needs of the “Out Here” lifestyle. With more than 38,000 team members, the company leverages its physical store assets with digital capabilities to offer customers the convenience of purchasing products they need anytime, anywhere and any way they choose at the everyday low prices they deserve.
Tractor Supply Company began showing interest of bringing their business to Branford in January of this year. Conversations continued throughout the year and a public hearing was held in June when the company applied for, and was granted, a conditional use of the property which allows them to have outside storage on the premises without having to fence it in.
If everything goes as planned, Harden said the Tractor Supply Company has a projected opening date set in March of 2021. “We are excited they are coming to Branford. It will be great for our farmers, and they will no longer have to go to Lake City or Live Oak for what they need, it’ll be local,” she said.
