The Hamilton County High School varsity baseball team played host to the Fort White Indians (2-3) on Monday, March 13. The Trojans (6-2) were looking to improve on an already impressive season that includes senior centerfielder and pitcher Julian Garcia. Garcia leads all Trojans in batting average, hits, runs scored, runs batted in (RBI), doubles, triples and stolen bases. On the mound, the Trojans have been led by senior Jaxon Smith who boasts a team leading earned run average (ERA) of 1.17 in five appearances over 18 innings with 34 strikeouts.
Smith took the mound against the Indians where he would pitched three scoreless innings, allowing zero hits, while striking out five. Senior Trayson Rogers closed out the game, going two innings, allowing zero earned runs on two hits, while striking out four. At the plate, the Trojans were led by Jacob Priest, who collected two hits on four at-bats, while driving in three runs in the Trojans' 12-1 win over the Indians.
