The Town of White Springs is providing its citizens with a weekend of celebration by hosting A Taste of White Springs, along with its annual Wild Azalea Festival. A Taste of White Springs will take place on Friday, March 17, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at Town Hall from Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event gives citizens the opportunity to have a taste of some of the greatest treats White Springs has to offer. To register your home-made treat for this event, contact White Springs Town Hall at (386) 397-2310. The Wild Azalea Festival will be held on Saturday, March 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be live entertainment throughout the event, as well as many festivities, including a Game Zone truck, a 50/50 raffle and a paddle board raffle. Additionally, there will be food and craft vendors providing delicious snacks and unique handmade goods.
The Wild Azalea Festival is best known for its Duck Race and Little Miss Azalea Contest. The Duck Race features little rubber ducks, each of which have a number on the bottom, that will be released into the water. The person who has the corresponding number with the winning duck will receive a paddle board. Tickets for the Duck Race can be purchased for $5. You do not have to be present to participate in the Duck Race. The Little Miss Azalea Contest is for girls between the ages of five and 12-years-old. The first place winner will receive $100 and a trophy. The runner-up will also receive a trophy. Forms for the Duck Race and Little Miss Azalea Contest are available at White Springs Town Hall, located at 10363 Bridge St., in White Springs. In addition, there are currently open spots for those who wish to be a vendor at the Wild Azalea Festival. If you are interested in being a vendor, contact White Springs Town Hall at (386) 397-2310. Both the Wild Azalea Festival and A Taste of White Springs will take place at White Springs' Nature and Heritage Tourism Center in the Stephen Foster State Park, located at 11016 Lillian Sanders Dr., in White Springs.
