Deark Bishop Warren, a 33-year-old man from McAlpin, struck the front driver's side window of an adult victim's vehicle with a metal pipe on Friday, Feb. 17.
A Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office arrest report states upon hearing the sound of the strike, the adult victim’s child ran from inside the home, thinking one of his toys fell from the roof. Simultaneously, an adult victim awoke from her sleep at the sound of the strike and exited her home to see what had caused it.
The adult victim saw her son and Warren in the yard approximately 15 yards apart. She ordered the child to return to the residence while Warren told the child not to return home and to walk with him.
The child returned to the home, and Warren then told the woman and the child that “he did not care about either of them or the cops as he waved the pipe in their direction,” the arrest report states. The adult victim order the suspect to leave multiple times. At first, he refused, but finally, after about ten minutes, he complied. The suspect then made his way to Christ Central Church of Suwannee County, where he continued to yell and scream, act belligerently and then walked to an outbuilding and shattered the window with the pipe.
SCSO deputies arrived at the church and saw Warren still armed with the pipe. A SCSO deputy ordered him to drop the pipe and stand still. Warren dropped the pipe but continued to walk away from the deputy. The deputy ordered him to stop walking again, and he did not comply. “Force then became necessary to restrain the suspect,” the report states.
Warren was arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail. There, he was charged with property damage–crimminal mischief at a church, mosque or religious article; damage of property between $200 and $1,000; aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony, aggravated assault with a weapon without intent to kill, trespassing–failure to leave property upon order by the owner; resisting an officer/arrest–obstruct without violence and kidnapping–inflicting bodily harm/terrorizing victim.
