On Tuesday, Jan. 31, the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) received a call for service, where a video was provided showing a six-month-old infant being kicked multiple times by an adult female, causing the infant to cry out loudly. During an investigation conducted by the LCSO, it was determined the infant’s mother was the individual in the video. According to a LCSO report, the infant was checked at the scene and transported to an area hospital. The mother, who was identified as 21-year-old Mayo resident Jalil Williams, was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated child abuse.
