The Lafayette High School Lady Hornets varsity volleyball team had a mixed bag in recent tournament play. On Friday, Sept. 11, the Lady Hornets faced the Lady Tigers of Union County High School. The Lady Hornets were defeated in straight sets, 20-25 and 14-25.
On Saturday, Sept. 12, the Lady Hornets had greater success against the Lady Raiders of Crescent City High School. The Lady Hornets won that match in straight sets, 25-5 and 25-2.
On Tuesday, Sept. 15, the Lady Hornets traveled to Lake Butler to again face the Lady Tigers of Union County. Although they were defeated, the Lady Hornets proved to be more of a challenge for the Lady Tigers, taking them to four sets, 16-25, 8-25, 25-22 and 17-25.
On Thursday, Sept. 17, the Lady Hornets junior varsity team faced the Lady Bulldogs of Suwannee High School in Live Oak. The Lady Hornets junior varsity came out on top in two sets, 25-18 and 25-23.
The Lady Hornets will be back on their home court on Monday, Sept. 28, when they will face the Lady Bulldogs of Bell High School. The junior varsity match is set for 5 p.m. The varsity team will play at approximately 6 p.m.
