The Pregnancy Care Center in Live Oak will be hosting their annual Walk for Life on Saturday, Oct. 24, but this year’s event will be different than normal due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, the same goals are still in place, which is to support life in the community.
This year, there are four ways a person can get involved in the event. According to the Pregnancy Care Center’s website, individuals can invite their friends and family to join them for a virtual walk, which can be held at a time and place that accommodates the walker. Individuals who participate in the virtual walk are asked to submit their photos to the Pregnancy Care Center’s Facebook page.
Secondly, churches can join together to walk or sponsor walkers. Churches can set a goal for some friendly competition and the opportunity to bring home the trophy.
Thirdly, individuals may participate in the Walk for Life devotions found on Facebook beginning Saturday, Oct. 17. Inspirational posts will include ministry highlights, prayer and support suggestions and a physical activity.
Lastly, anyone wishing to donate online may do so by texting step2020 to 71777.
Anyone wishing to participate in the Walk/Run for Life 5K event will meet at Heritage Park in Live Oak at 8 a.m. This will be the only location for this year’s event. The goal is to raise $45,000.
