Preen Acres Cat Sanctuary is a no-kill, lifetime cat sanctuary for abandoned and homeless cats in Suwannee County and the surrounding North Florida area. The non-profit provides a safe and healthy home for cats, kittens and feral cats. Additionally, they offer adoption services to place rescued cats and kittens in loving, fur-ever homes. Although Preen Acres is no longer able to take on more cats, they remain open, caring for and adopting out cats currently residing at the sanctuary.
Preen Acres Cat Sanctuary is located on four rural acres in Suwannee County. The facility includes a fully enclosed main building in a peaceful country setting. In 2014, the shelter became a 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation. Together, founders Jo-Ann and Alfred Preen opened Preen Acres Cat Sanctuary in 2005 as a no-kill shelter for cats in need of a haven. Today, Jo-Ann carries on the dream in memory of her late loving husband, Alfred.
Since its beginnings in 2005, Preen Acres has saved over 100 cats and currently provides a safe and loving home for 40 cats and kittens. All of the cats are neutered or spayed to prevent pet overpopulation. Indoor cats are neutered or spayed and front declawed. Outdoor cats are neutered or spayed and ear-notched. “Truly, a labor of love, hard work and dedication have been poured into the development of Preen Acres. We are committed to providing the best care for our cats and kittens. We welcome you to become a part of the Preen Acres Cat Sanctuary family by adopting a cat, volunteering your time, or donating,” Jo-Ann stated.
