On Saturday, Nov. 26, the Lafayette County Chamber of Commerce held its Second Annual Downtown Christmas festival. Between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., attendees were able to peruse a variety of food and craft venders while enjoying an assortment of entertainment from local talent. Performances included songs from the Boys and Girls Club of Mayo, Jared Cook, Sadie Miller and Jessica Huertematte. Festival-goers also got to see amazing routines by the girls of Lighthouse Cheer.
At 6 p.m., attendees lined the sidewalks along Main Street for the Christmas parade. Excitement filled the air as floats covered in Christmas lights and decked out with gifts, tinsel and decorated trees filled the streets. Youth and adults alike eagerly filled their bags and buckets with candy tossed from each float. Rounding out the parade was a surprise visit from Cindy Lou Who, the Grinch and his faithful pup, Max, Mrs. Clause and Santa.
