The Friends of Music will be presenting a free concert by RareSong titled “Christmas Tales from Florida's First Coast.” RareSong is composed of seven professionally-trained musicians performing vocally and instrumentally using period-appropriate instruments to bring the past to life through lively music, costumes and a little drama.
Founded in 2015, this ensemble has presented concerts in Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Green Cove Springs, Penney Farms and, now, Live Oak. The Live Oak concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, in the sanctuary of Covenant First Presbyterian Church, located at 421 White Ave. The concert is free and a reception follows.
Future concerts of the Friends of Music Series include The Chamber Singers of the University of North Florida on Friday, Feb. 10, 2023 and Kevin Sharpe, pianist, on Friday, April 21, 2023.
