On Tuesday, Oct. 31, the spookiest day of the year, Live Oak was paid a visit by a unique group of people. The Paranormal Investigators of North Florida are a group of adults whose focus is on finding, proving and explaining paranormal activity. “We are a Paranormal Investigating team in North Florida investigating the things that go bump,” their Facebook page says.
On Halloween night, the team was invited to the Suwannee River Regional Library, located at 1848 Ohio Ave. S, in Live Oak. From 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., the team sat down with those in attendance and discussed their work. Their goal was to help others think outside the box. On top of that, they educated attendees about the equipment and investigative techniques that they use in their study of paranormal science. The evening was led by the leader of the Paranormal Investigators of North Florida, Denis Burroughs.
The team also brought in items from some of their different investigations, including a plethora of dolls, some of which are, allegedly, still haunted. During the evening, there was one moment that had those in the crowd gasping in surprise or possibly even fright; the team brought out a haunted clown doll to show the audience. “The clown started to swing,” Burroughs said in a Facebook post. “That is why the owner got rid of it in the first place.” She continued, explaining that, at that point, the team’s EMF (electromagnetic field) meters began going off. “The clown face is completely different, the eyes are blue the nose is not dark and the face looks very distorted,” Burroughs said. “We are hoping to have video (soon) of the clown falling on the ground. But everybody in that room let out a loud gasp and all our meters were going off.” She finished by saying, “when you do an event on Halloween and get activity in a room full of people, you’re doing good.”
