On Tuesday, Nov. 22, members of the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) Investigations Division assisted the United States Marshal's Office in capturing Joetavius Remon Jackson, 37, of Live Oak.
Jackson was wanted for first-degree murder out in West Palm Beach, Fla., after he allegedly shot and killed someone during an altercation over a cell phone.
Jackson fled the area, and the US Marshal’s Office was able to track him to Live Oak. He was discovered walking on West Duval Street near Shelby Avenue. He was taken into custody for an out-of-county warrant without incident.
The SCSO states Jackson has an extensive violent criminal history and was recently released from the Florida Departmant Of Corrections in May of 2022 after serving a 10-year sentence for the sale of cocaine in Suwannee County.
