Good character is a treasure at Branford Elementary School. Each month, the school picks a specific character trait to represent a good citizen. September’s character trait was responsibility. Students that showed this trait were nominated by their teachers. The trait for October is tolerance. Tolerance is the ability to endure something unpleasant, an important concept that helps people live together peacefully. To be tolerant means that you accept the opinions and preferences of others, even if you do not agree with them. Good ways to promote tolerance include talking about differences respectfully, and encouraging openness and compassion. Congratulations to these students for representing such good traits.
