Living in Florida makes most people aware of the common natural dangers that surrounding the area. A good example of this would be the hurricanes seen almost yearly around the same time. Due to the natural disasters that can ensue, local governments do their absolute best to prepare for such events. This includes helping to provide shelter or emergency supplies or rescues when needed. However, the local government isn’t the end of this care. Most of the public also prepares by themselves. Yet, true help comes when these two forces join together, and that is exactly what happened between Suwannee Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC) and Lafayette County Emergency Management (LCEM). When SVEC heard that LCEM was in need of a forklift, they jumped into action. They had a forklift in their surplus equipment, which they happily turned around and donated to LCEM. This forklift will help the county receive and deliver supplies during emergencies.
