Every week, RIVEROAK Technical College chooses one student, nominated by an instructor, to be their Student Spotlight. For the week of Monday, Aug. 29, Seth Dier was chosen as the student spotlight. Dier is in the Automotive Service Technology program, where he learns about the latest software, simulators and diagnostic equipment in every part of automotive service and electronics technologies. This program allows students to move into a career working as almost any mechanic. Dier’s nomination came from his instructor, BJ Blackmon, who said, “Seth has always wanted to know more and is always invested in what is going on.” When Dier was asked why he chose the Automotive Service Technology I program, he replied, “I took interest in fixing vehicles and I wanted to learn more from the program.” After graduation, Dier is planning to work at an auto mechanic shop.
