Citizens of Jennings gathered for a Back to School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 6. This was an exciting event for the community to connect and celebrate the new school year. The town’s citizens gather annually at Cunningham Park to hold a donation drive to collect school supplies for students in the community. The purpose was to ensure students were sent into the new school year to prepare them for success. The Jennings Volunteer Fire Department with tools even showed up at the event to brighten the attendees’ days. Children had the chance to meet and greet with the fire department and see their firetrucks up close. There were also food vendors selling tasty refreshments, a car show and free face painting for the youth. The event was successful in getting children excited for the new school year.
