The LifeSong reunion concert is set to take place in Madison on Saturday, August 20, at New Home Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Admission is free!
LifeSong began in 2008 when three friends decided to get together and perform one concert together. Little did they know that would be the start of a music ministry that would spend the next 11 years touring the southeast, singing to crowds of all ages.
The group was established in 2008 by Bryant Thigpen of Madison, who served as the group’s emcee and lead vocalist. Thigpen would later transition to baritone and remained in that position until they came off the road in 2019.
In 2009, Ethan Brooks of Thomasville, Ga., joined LifeSong as the baritone vocalist. Brooks would later transition to lead, and remained in that position until his departure in 2018. During his 10-year tenure with the group, Brooks was featured on many highly requested songs such as, “I’m Never Alone,” “Child, Child,” and “Midnight Cry.”
In 2011, Jessica Ratliff of Greenville joined LifeSong as the alto vocalist, and remained with the group until 2017. During her six years with the group, she was featured on many songs that were crowd favorites, such as, “Blessings,” “Lord Here Am I, Send Me,” “God Still Answers Prayer,” and many more.
During the six years that Thigpen, Brooks and Ratliff performed together as LifeSong, they recorded five albums: Never Alone, Everyday Faith, Yesterday and Today, Homeland and LifeSong Live! During their reunion concert, the group will be performing their most requested songs from their recordings.
“We are so excited to be back on the stage together again,” said Thigpen. “Every time we sing together, it’s always a lot of fun and I know it will be a special evening. We hope everyone will come out and enjoy some great southern gospel music.”
