Hueston Morrill is a Suwannee High School graduate class of 2018. As a member of the Bulldogs, Morrill had a storied career, beginning with his ability to perform as a two-way standout player. On the mound, Morrill posted a record of 10-5 in 117 innings, with 153 strikeouts with an earned run average (ERA) of 1.22. In his senior season alone, he recorded 94 strikeouts in 58.2 innings with a 7-3 record. At the plate, Morrill was the Bulldogs' primary leadoff batter, where he amassed 12 home runs, including seven in his senior season. He carried a career batting average of .291, including a .289 batting average his senior season.
Morrill received accolades from Perfect Game, where he was a third team All-American and was named to the All-Florida Region first team. Upon completing his senior season, Morrill heard his name called in the 2018 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft in round 36. With schools such as Kentucky, Florida State, Clemson, North Carolina and University Central Florida, along with Oklahoma State University vying for his talents, Morrill decided to pass on the major league baseball (MLB) draft and choose to join the Oklahoma State University Cowboys.
While at Oklahoma State University, Morrill played both shortstop and pitched for the Cowboys. In his final season with the Cowboys, Morrill started 34 games and batted .242 with 16 hits and four doubles.
Upon the 2022 MLB draft, Morrill got his number called by the New York Yankees, who signed Morrill to a free agent contract with their organization. Morrill hopes to continue his baseball career with the Yankees organization while playing shortstop.
