Winnie Baldwin turned 100-years-old on Monday, July 4. During the last 100 years, Baldwin has done many things; most important to her was being a wife for 62 years. Together, she and her husband raised two boys. Today, Baldwin has four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren that she loves to talk about. She has lived her entire life in Jasper and has many fond memories there. She remains very involved in her church and community and has many friends in the Hamilton County area. “Winnie is one of the sweetest women we’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. We are very blessed to be a part of her life,” says her long-time friend, Karen Foster.
To celebrate, the Baldwin family held a ribbon-cutting for the Winnie Baldwin Community Garden in Lake City. The event featured seed planting and harvesting, as well as birthday wishes from loved ones. If you would like to pay a visit to the garden, call (386) 658-1577 to book a tour.
