The Suwannee Chorus went on tour on Friday, May 6, to the Village Church in Dowling Park. The Chorus comprises 39 members of the fourth and fifth grades from Suwannee Pineview and Springcrest Elementary Schools; they are directed by Tammy Michal and assistant director Stacey Smith. The Chorus has gone on tour throughout the year to perform in such places as Christmas on the Square, the Suwannee County Fair and Heritage Park celebrations.
On Friday, May 6, the chorus performed various songs that included a tribute to Veterans, along with songs from Disney movies and show tunes. The concert concluded with a special appearance by Ken Michal, who played the flugelhorn with the chorus in an arrangement of An Irish Blessing. In appreciation for the performance, the chorus received a standing ovation from the audience.
