On Monday, May 23, residents of Suwannee County began receiving their county-issued collections site permit decals in the mail with a letter explaining the purpose of the decal and where to place it on their vehicle windshield.
During its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, April 5, the Suwannee County Board of Commissioners approved Resolution No. (2022-28), which implemented the requirement of a permit decal for entry into Suwannee County Collection Site facilities. This is to ensure only appropriate county residents have access to the collections sites in the hopes of minimizing unauthorized use of the facilities.
Effective Monday, June 20, upon entry into the Suwannee County Collections Site, residents must display the county-issued windshield permit decal. Each county resident who pays a special assessment for solid waste on their yearly tax bill will be issued two collection permit decals per assessment, scheduled to be mailed in November of each year. The owners of rented properties are responsible for issuing renters their stickers.
The decal is made of a plastic material that is designed for easy placement and removal. This decal should be placed on the inside lower corner of the driver's side windshield, in plain sight and for easy viewing by collection site attendants.
