Warren Victor Mullis, 57, of Mayo, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 4, 2022, at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Fla. Mullis was born on Feb. 19, 1965, in Perry, Fla., to James Allen Mullis and Mildred Ann Johnson Mullis. He was a 1983 graduate of Lafayette High School, where he played drums in the marching band and played on the football team, including the 1981 State Championship team. Mullis worked with the City of Live Oak Public Works Department as a Light Equipment Operator for the last 11 years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, who enjoyed going to the coast and watching Alabama football in his spare time. Mullis was preceded in death by his father, James Mullis.
He is survived by his wife of four years, Amy Mullis; two daughters, Makayla Mullis, of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Hannah Atkins, of Mayo; his mother, Mildred Johnson Mullis, of Mayo; three sisters, Misty Shows and husband Billy, of Mayo, Kristie Putnal and husband Franklin, of Jacksonville, Fla. and Beverley Fountain and husband David, of Mayo, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 8, at Mayo First Assembly of God with Rev. Robbie Johnson officiating. Interment services followed in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to the service. All arrangements are under the care of Burns Funeral Home of Mayo.
