On Friday, March 25, the Suwannee High School varsity flag football team saw the Fleming Island Lady Eagles invade Paul Langford Stadium in Live Oak. Unfortunately, the game got away from the Lady Bulldogs early, as the Lady Eagles proved to be too fast for them.
Quarterbacks Maci Campbell and Jayla Reid were under pressure all night, as the Lady Bulldogs struggled to get anything going offensively. Defensively, the Lady Bulldogs seemed to have their backs against the goal-line all night. To add to the Lady Eagles' speed, they kept the Lady Bulldogs defense off-balance with several misdirection plays that constantly caught the Lady Bulldogs off guard and struggling to recover.
While the game got away from the Lady Bulldogs, it wasn't until the second half the that game seemed out of reach, as they battled to keep the score close. As the second half began, the Lady Eagles began to run away with the game, bringing the final score to 42-0.
