Jack Willard Whitmore, 91, passed away at 3 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley. Whitmore was born on Aug. 2, 1930, in Warren, Penn. He was one of 12 children born to the late Clyde and Minnie J. Clark Whitmore. Whitmore was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy, serving at the end of World War II. He was a U.S. Navy Corpsman. He was the business owner of Whitmore Paving and operated his business for 47 years before he retired. He will be remembered as a loving, caring and compassionate husband, father and grandfather. He loved everything about life. He enjoyed fishing, auctions and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Tereasa Whitmore; son, Jack Willard Whitmore; daughter, Jacqueline Alvarez, of Wellington, Fla.; daughter, Kristin Davis, of Lake City, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law Tamara and Ryan Slattery, of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; granddaughter, Nancy and husband Troy Schurter, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; grandson, Matt Alvarez, of Irvine, Calif.; granddaughter, Samantha Arbour, of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; granddaughters, Amber and Allie Davis, of Lake City, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Alex Schurter, of Wellington, Fla. and two sisters, Betty Maine, of Busti, N.Y. and Judy Newbree, of Jamestown, N.Y.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Clyde and Minnie Clark; son, Jeffery Willard Whitmore, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; grandson, Stephen Alvarez, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; five sisters Barbara Minster, Jo Ann Klingensmith, Florence Hilton, Rose Gammino, Geneva Williams and four brothers, Leon Whitmore, Clyde Whitmore, James Whitmore and William Whitmore.
A service will be held at First Baptist Church, located at 401 W Howard St., in Live Oak, with visitation at 10 a.m. and a service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 2.
