Twenty-six of Florida’s 67 counties do not avail themselves of funding available through arts and culture grants. Most of these counties are considered rural with populations of less than 75,000.
In response to this finding, Florida Cultural Alliance, in partnership with several UF/IFAS County Extension agencies, is conducting a series of free workshops to increase awareness of support available to those planning to and already programming cultural activities in their communities. Workshops are available for Suwannee, Lafayette, Madison, Columbia, Bradford, Baker, Taylor, Putnam and Union Counties. The next workshop will be held on Wednesday, March 30, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Suwannee County UF/IFAS Extension office, located at 1302 11th St. SW, in Live Oak.
