Dear Editor
I wince whenever someone responds to the motto, “Black Lives Matter,” by automatically asserting, “All Lives Matter.” Well, of course they do. If I claim that my children’s lives are important, it doesn’t mean I am saying their lives are more important than your children’s - only that they are not less important.
Why would anyone want to be so demonically competitive as to understand that any other way? I am weary of hearing words like “heritage” or “tradition” used to justify treating any person as less than fully human. Heirloom evil is still evil. The mere fact that it’s really old doesn’t make it good.
Black lives matter, because the image of God comes in all colors. Don’t take my word for it. Ask Him yourself.
