Larry William Burk, Jr., 61, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, after a brief illness. He was born in Warren, Ohio, on May 30, 1960, to the late Larry William Burk, Sr. and Margaret Louis Kramer Burk. He has made the Live Oak area his home most of his life, only recently moving to Lake City a little over five years ago. He was a chef for over 40 years, working for Kens, The Brown Lantern, SOS Café, Sheryl’s Buffet and even was the manager for the Golden Corral in Live Oak. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, was an avid Florida Gator fan, Dallas Cowboy fan and a sports enthusiast. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and Michael Burk.
He is survived by his children, Kimberly Ranck (Allen) of Live Oak, Dustin Burk (Jenny) of Wellborn and Samantha McLeod (Marc) of Lake City; brothers, Anthony Burk of Warren, Ohio, Gary Burk (Leigh) of Cortland, OH and Frank Burk (Renee) of Niles, Ohio. Six grandchildren, Abigail, Hayden, Jacob, Sophie, Owen and Madelynn, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
He is also survived by the mothers of his children, Danna Woodham and Donna Reed.
A celebration of life service for Burk was conducted on the Saturday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park. A small gathering for friends and family was held after services.
