“You want to drink? That’s your business. You want to stop? That’s our business.” Join Live Oak’s Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) group to discover a new way acof life. Regular Live Oak AA meetings are held each week at 7 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays. Men only meetings are held each Sunday at 8 a.m., and are followed by women only meetings at 4 p.m. The group also holds Al-Anon and AlaTeen meetings every Sunday at 2 p.m., which are open to friends and family of all ages. Each session will be held in the building next to the Suwannee County Health Department at 911 Nobles Ferry Rd.,

Let TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) help you with your weight management goals. TOPS is a weight-loss support group that meets weekly on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Join the UF/IFAS Suwannee Extension for a free health and wellness class on managing diabetes and prediabetes from noon to 1 p.m. in the Suwannee River Regional Library. Participants will receive a free blood pressure cuff, a free blood Sugar monitor and supplies, education and resources, heart-healthy recipes and more. No registration is needed to attend this class. The Live Oak Garden Club will be hosting Pink Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., allowing attendees to get a jump on Christmas shopping with unique, locally made gifts and exclusive deals from local small businesses. Decar Scaff will be hosting an open house for members of the community to visit his annual Christmas cottage display from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The cottages will then be on display until the end of the Christmas season. Everyone is welcome to stop by; the Scaffs only ask that everyone call ahead of time so someone will be available to open the doors.
