The second annual Strawberry Festival will take place Saturday, Feb. 26 and Sunday, Feb. 27, at the Suwannee County Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Festivities include, arts and crafts, bounce houses, a classic car show, live entertainment, rock painting, pony rides, a strawberry relay, face painting, a pie-eating contest, a petting farm and many more. There will also be delicious strawberry-themed treats such as strawberry shortcakes and chocolate-covered strawberries.
In addition, there will be a Berry Cute Baby contest for babies under 24 months. Registration is free and will take place at the festival. Contestants will be limited to 15 girls and 15 boys. No children can be entered after 11:45 a.m. on the day of the contest and participants must be present at the contest area no later than 12 p.m. Babies must be no older than 24 months old to be eligible. Babies will be introduced by event staff and judging will begin after. All results of the judging are final and no scores will be shared with contestants. One winner from each category will be chosen and announced. The winners will receive 25 Strawberry Bucks to spend at the festival, a Kohl’s Cares stuffed animal and a certificate. The runner-ups will also receive a Kohl’s Cares stuffed animal and a certificate.
Additionally, there will be a car show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All car show proceeds will go towards benefiting local charities. The winner will receive 50 Strawberry Bucks and the runner-up will receive 25 Strawberry Bucks. To participate, email bucklershows@yahoo.com or call (386) 860-0092.
