Stella Faye Buchanan, 72, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021 in Mayo, surrounded by her family. Buchanan was born on Aug. 15, 1949, in Madison, Fla., to Rev. Jack Lamb and Sarah Brannen Lamb. Buchanan was of the Baptist faith and a Christian and was a member of Riverside Baptist Church, where she played the piano for many years. She was also a piano player for the Cavalier’s Quartet of Perry, Fla., for eight years. Buchanan was the Center Manager for North Florida Medical of Mayo for many years. She loved playing the piano at her church, spending time with her family and especially her granddaughter Tanya, fishing, cooking and taking trips to the mountains and to the beach with her family. Buchanan was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Jack and Sarah Lamb; three brothers, Albert Lamb, Jimmy Lamb and Tommy Lamb and two sisters, Sarah Helen Lyons and Ruth Winburn. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Franklin “Buddy” Buchanan; children, Johnny Buchanan, and Errol (Felecia) Buchanan; her granddaughter, Tanya Buchanan; brothers, Paul (Dawn) Lamb and Bill (Sharee) Lamb; sisters, Lucille (Charles) Sapp and Linda (Terry) McCray; two sisters-in-law, Martha Lamb of Mims, Fla. and Susan Lamb of Live Oak, Fla., as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 3, at 11 a.m., at Mayo Baptist Church with Bro. Jerry Lamb and Bro. Ricky Lyons officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterwards in Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Burns Funeral Home of Mayo. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Mayo.
