Bring Your Bible to School Day takes place this year on Thursday, Oct. 7. This is a great time for students all across the nation to publicly express their faith. This yearly event is sponsored by Focus on the Family and students can sign up at focusonthefamily.com or by visiting their Facebook page.
Focus on the Family is committed to helping students understand their rights as Christians. Many students have faced opposition for simply praying over their food, sharing their testimony with fellow students and reading their Bibles at school. All of these things are completely within the rights of students, but many are unaware that the law protects such activities.
By visiting Focus on the Family's website, students and parents can educate themselves about the freedoms of religious expression that are protected for all students. Since so many school officials in other areas often try to restrict these freedoms, it is important for students and parents to know their rights and exercise them accordingly. Students are encouraged to organize themselves and make plans to participate in Bring Your Bible to School Day, so they can impact the lives of others by sharing their testimonies of what God has done in their lives.
