On Thursday, Sept. 2, the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office assisted the US Marshalls Fugitive Task Force and the Florida Highway Patrol in capturing 25-year-old Hunter Dylan Jones Buck.
Buck, from St. Augustine, Fla., cut off his ankle monitor and fled to a residence in Suwannee County, located at the 15300 block of County Road 252, in McAlpin. Buck was found at the residence, arrested and booked into the Suwannee County Jail on a failure to appear warrant out of St. Augustine. However, this was not the first time this subject had been arrested in Suwannee County.
According to a St. Augustine Police Department report, Buck reportedly broke into a house and raped a 13-year-old girl on Tuesday, Jan. 19. When the mother of the victim entered the house and saw what was happening, she tried to block Buck in order to keep him from fleeing.
Buck was able to escape but according to the report, a witness was able to recall a “gray hatchback type of vehicle leaving the house at a high rate of speed.” Even though he was able to escape from the St. Augustine area, he was caught and arrested in February by the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office for the allegations of breaking into a home and raping a 13-year-old girl.
His second and most current arrest, which happened last week, was due to him failing to appear for the alleged crime that happened back in January.
“We’re always willing to help our law enforcement partners bring fugitives to justice to help keep our community and state safe,” stated Suwannee County Sheriff Sam St. John.
