The Suwannee County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) Criminal Investigations Division arrested 58-year-old Larry Marshall Worley on Wednesday, Aug. 25, for sexual battery on a disabled person, abuse of a disabled person and incest.
According to the Probable Cause Affidavit, submitted on April 8, 2021, by Investigator Kim Lane, Worley forced an unnamed disabled female relative "to have sexual intercourse, along with other sexual acts, with him," resulting in the victim to become pregnant. Inv. Lane was able to obtain DNA buccal swabs from the female victim, Worley and the baby, once it was born. A completed DNA profile was sent back to the SCSO on July 12, establishing a 99.99 percent probability of Worley being the child's father.
The report continued, stating there was concern Worley would attempt to flee due to him being a long-distance truck driver with family all over the country. Worley was also reported as having told investigators with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) that he could "get in his truck and leave the area and go wherever he wanted to go." In addition, Worley quit driving his semi truck to his home, instead renting a vehicle to use as transportation to his Live Oak residence, which led investigators to believe he was attempting to elude prosecution.
The report then states Worley contacted the SCSO and the DCFS, stating "no one was allowed on his property or they would see the end of a bullet if they did not have a warrant to be there." The same statement was reported to have been made to Adult Services, "who refused to go on the property and put services in place for the disabled [victim]."
"Sheriff Sam St. John would like to commend Inv. Kim Lane for always going above and beyond and giving victims in Suwannee County a voice," the SCSO posted on its Facebook page.
Worley was booked into the Suwannee County Jail on Wednesday, Aug. 25, at approximately 5:48 p.m., under one count of felony sexual battery on a disabled person, one count of felony abuse of a disabled person and one count of incest. He is currently being held under a bond of $160,000.
