Thursday, Aug. 26, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office received a warrant for the arrest of Brittany Cooper from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office for suspected fraud. Cooper is also the suspect in a separate investigation out of Bradford County, which seems to mirror the charges brought forth on Thursday.
This investigation came after a client reached out to Cooper's law office to draw up paperwork. Cooper fulfilled the client's request and delivered the paperwork as legitimate documents. The client then tried to use the documents in question and later found out they had been forged. Upon further investigation, several other victims in this case have been discovered. However, the investigation is still ongoing. The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office would like for anyone that has had any dealings with Cooper to please get in touch with their office at (386) 758-1095.
Cooper’s problem does not seem to be limited to Columbia County, though, as she has also caught the eye of the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office in a similar case. Cooper is the primary suspect in a separate investigation being conducted by the Bradford County Sheriff's Office. At this time, Cooper is being charged with fraud. However, as the investigation is ongoing, it has not been determined what level of formal charges Ms. Cooper faces.
