More than a month before festivities were set to begin, Mayo's premier event will not be taking place on Saturday, Oct. 10. The 41st annual Mayo Pioneer Days have been rescheduled by event staff, according to a representative from the Lafayette Activities Group.
According to Linda Cone, Mayo Pioneer Days will coincide with Mayo's Christmas in the Park on Saturday, Dec. 12, with a parade during the mid-morning hours. Cone stated that COVID-19 “came into play” when deciding the fate of Pioneer Day's October date.
Additional details will be announced as they are available. To stay up-to-date on the rescheduled Mayo Pioneer Days festivities, please join the Lafayette Activities Group on Facebook.
