I just read the front page article titled, "Live Oak City Councilman accused of using profanity towards Councilwoman." Perhaps it was mistitled. Because Linda Owens seems to think, by her own quoted word, that David Burch is a ridiculous boy and a crazy boy. So being in the same august body of governing officials as peers I suppose they should be referred to as Councilboy and Councilgirl?! To use Linda's phrase, "come on people." Is this how grownups act?! Calling a woman the "b" word isn't proper etiquette either by any stretch of the imagination. It would be appropriate for councilman Burch and councilwoman Owens to publicly apologize to each other before publicly apologizing to the citizens of Live Oak for the rude obnoxious behavior and speech they displayed.
On another matter Councilwoman Owens mentioned, I too must be "so far behind" as I handwrite a letter to a printed newspaper. From the discussion it seems we should want and need to be "up to date with things." If we use paper applications rather than computerized ones then it's harder to hack into the information. So let's catch up to everyone else that is getting hacked into. We don't want to be so far behind. Come on people. How can we pay big ransom payments and Information Technology Specialists salaries if we're still using paper applications? We're so far behind in this city. As for me, catching up with the big cities isn't always the greener grass everyone claims it is.
