Marion Kirk Greek, 61, of Panama City, Fla., passed away peacefully Thursday, July 15, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Greek was born in Munich, Germany, to Winfield and Yvonne Greek. He spent his youth traveling to wherever his father's military career took him, but he always considered Live Oak "home." He started his family in Port Charlotte, Fla., and lived there for more than a decade. He enjoyed all things outdoors and had a soft spot for his family, his friends and his animals. Greek was a long-time dedicated employee at Bay District Schools, Haney Technical Center. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, as well as two brothers, Neal and Floyd Greek. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Terry Greek; three daughters, Christi (Pat) Dalton, Heather (Greg) Hosmer and Brooke (Nick) Foster; 10 grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Greek was a strong, kind, loving and supportive son, husband, father, brother, cousin and friend. He was known to his grandchildren as "Papa Kirk." His knowledge and guidance was the foundation of his family. He will be sorely missed. Graveside services will be held Saturday, Aug. 14, at 1 p.m. at Pinemount Baptist Church, located at 17031 US Hwy 129 S, in McAlpin, Fla.
