Charles Dyal, age 74, of Jasper, Fla., passed away peacefully on Monday, May 24, 2021, at home with family. Charles was born on March 12, 1947, in Hazlehurst, Ga., to the late Henry Tracy Dyal and Audrey McGowan Dyal. Charles moved to Jasper in 1979, where he raised his family while working at PCS Phosphate, formerly Occidental. He was a loving father who was heavily involved in all of his children’s lives through coaching baseball, boy scouts and organizing beach trips for his own children, as well as neighborhood children. Charles taught his children, by example, the value of hard work and what it means to help others. He laid the foundation for his children’s faith by ensuring they attended church weekly.
Charles is preceded in death by both parents, as well as his daughter, Chelsea Smith-Corbett. Survivors include his brother Lewis Dyal of Sparta, Ga., children Traci Dyal of Jasper, Charlie Dyal of Crawfordville, Fla., Marshall (P-Nut) Dyal of Alapaha, Ga. and Amanda (Nick) Dunnam of St. Augustine, Fla., along with 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service was held Saturday, June 5, at the First Presbyterian Church of Jasper, with Pastor Jennifer Hallberg presiding.
