Michael David Thomas, 64, of Branford, Fla., went home peacefully to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 2, 2021. Thomas was a very devoted and loving husband, brother, uncle, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Janice Thomas. Thomas formed many happy memories with his love of his Harley Davidson, sharing that passion with his wife. He also enjoyed his times on the river, fishing, being outdoors, tinkering on the motorcycle and being around family and friends. Thomas was a loving and caring father to Kelly D. Freer (Jon) of Denver, Colo., stepfather to Elijah Wilson of Branford and Luke Wilson of Ft. White, Fla., along with adopting his grandson Dillon Thomas, also of Branford.
Thomas is also survived by: his sisters, Pam Thomas (Charles) of Sedalia, Mo. and Janet Gottschalck of Morrison, Colo.; five grandkids, Zane Freer, Logan, Ethan, Kaylinn and Ava Wilson; nephew, Ronald Arnold (Amanda) of Knob Noster, Mo.; niece, Rachel Fanch (Caleb) of Westminster, Colo., along with extended family members and friends. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Ronald F. and Audrey R. Thomas and brother-in-law, Nathan Newcomb.
A private family service was held to celebrate Thomas's life. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to National Kidney Foundation in honor of Thomas.
