Douglas McArthur "Mack" Parr, age 79, a former resident of Jasper, Fla., passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at Clinch Memorial Hospital in Homerville, Ga., following a brief illness. Parr was born in Douglas, Ga., on March 4, 1942. He lived most of his life in Jasper and worked for a number of years at Occidental Chemical Company (PCS/Nutrien). Like most men, Parr loved to hunt and fish. God blessed him with a wonderful wife, who served as a help-mate to him until her death in 2012. Survivors include: his daughter, Penny Register and her husband Chris of Echols County, Ga.; his son, Doug Parr of Jasper, Fla.; one brother, Billy Ray Parr of Fargo, Ga.; one sister, Shelby Jean Petty of Mississippi and his four grandchildren. Graveside services were held on Friday, May 28, at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, Fla. Harry T. Reid Funeral Home of Jasper was in charge of arrangements.
